About Me

I’m a wife & a working mother in Brookings, South Dakota. I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and moved to SoDak after meeting my husband (Jay) online, back in 1995. I like cooking (especially baking) and photography, and my life revolves around my son (the bambino). I suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder. I also have a minor obsession with Watergate.

Hi Rachel,
After corresponding with you, regarding the SSS blog project, I was interested in your blogs and pleasantly surprised to read that you grew up in Cincy! I have many ties to the area, as I was born and raised in Ft. Thomas, Ky. I moved to Hill City, after falling in love, with this most beautiful and peaceful area.   It’s a small world, eh? I have a cousin that lives in Ft. Thomas, although I never get back to the Cincy area as much as I’d like. I also haven’t yet made it West River, but that’s on my “to-do” list in the near future!
